“MY CHILD HAS SCOLIOSIS”
Having a diagnosis of scoliosis (often called AIS – Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis) in your child can be an upsetting and traumatic experience. You may be scared of the condition developing and its’ consequences. You will want to ask a host of questions and will inevitably get different answers, some of which will be confusing, full of acronyms or jargon, or even contradictory. RSC scoliosis braces are individually designed for each client to produce optimum results with the best possible outcome.
Hugh Malleson and his associates at Cymortho will assist and enable you to make an informed decision about what treatment is best for your child. The current treatments available for the management of scoliosis are physiotherapy, spinal surgery and bracing.

Not all braces are the same! The most common type of brace (the Boston brace), as provided by the NHS, is based on technology that has been used for over 30 years, and has remained virtually unchanged in all this time. We have found that some of the problems associated with incorrect braces include an increased Cobb angle, poor spine flexibility, localised pressure and poor control of the spinal curve.
Cardiff-based Cymortho is proud to supply the most modern brace technology available in the UK, which has been clinically proven in study after study and will give you the best possible chance of avoiding high-risk spinal fusion surgery.
Cymortho uses a whole body holistic treatment method, and we aim to reduce the chance of your child needing to have a spinal operation.
Bracing on its’ own does not constitute the full treatment package – you will also embark on a course of Schroth Therapy (a highly specialised form of Physiotherapy). This type of therapy is recognised the world over as being the most effective treatment to prevent the angle of the curve progressing, maintaining flexibility of the spine and reducing the chance of serious back and body problems later on in life.
Cymortho will provide the best possible service to you, backed up by an internationally recognised team of experts who are genuinely acknowledged as leaders in their field.
